How to Find Out Why a Float Card was Paused
In the Float web app
- Log in at app.floatfinancial.com.
- Go to "Cards" and select "Virtual" or "Physical".
- Select the paused card.
- The pause reason shows under the cardholder name.
In the Float mobile app
- Open the Float mobile app.
- Select the card (or select the card icon at the bottom of the screen).
- Open the card.
- "Paused" and the pause reason will display.
Card Pause Reasons and How to Resolve Them
Identity verification in progress
Paused: transactions missing required info
Paused for suspicious transactions
Identity verification in progress
This means the card was automatically paused because a transaction was attempted and the cardholder has not completed the mandatory identity verification (KYC). Float cards can only be used once the cardholder has completed verification.
To unpause the card:
- Complete the KYC verification
- Once completed, the card will automatically be unpaused
Paused by card owner
This pause reason occurs when a Float card has been manually paused by the cardholder.
To unpause the card:
- Navigate to Cards > Physical or Virtual > Select the card you want to unpause
- Click "Resume Card" in the top-right corner
Important Note:
- Spenders and Managers can only unpause a Float card that they paused themselves.
- Administrators can unpause any users card that was paused by the card owner
Paused by admin
This card was paused by an Administrator for your business.
To unpause the card:
- Reach out to an Administrator for your business for more information.
Paused: transactions missing required info
This pause reason happens because your business has a Submission Policy that requires certain transaction fields to be completed within a set timeframe. If those fields aren’t completed in time, the card is automatically paused.
The required fields are marked with a red asterisk (*) and commonly include:
Receipts
Descriptions
Vendors
GL codes

Paused for suspicious transactions
This means the card was flagged and paused for suspicious activity or transactions.
To unpause the card:
- Start a chat with Support
- Select Help in the top right hand corner of the screen

Click Chat with Support
- Email support at support@floatfinancial.com.
KYB violation
This means your business has not completed KYB verification, or has not yet been approved for Float. The card is automatically paused because spending cannot start until verification has been completed and approved.
To unpause the card:
- Ensure you've submitted your in-app business verifications.

- Once submitted, you'll be contacted via email within 1 business day to complete the verification
