Float uses different time zones in different parts of the product, depending on whether you’re reviewing transactions, exporting them, or downloading statements.
Guide Overview:
Exports to Accounting Integrations
CSV exports from Transaction Export
Transaction Time Zones
The Transactions tab is separate from the Transaction Export page and is focused on day-to-day transaction review and coding.
Transactions on the Card Transactions page are displayed in Eastern Time (ET).
Using ET aligns with our statements and standard financial reporting practices, as our institution is headquartered in Eastern Time.
Transaction Export Time Zones
When you review transactions on the Transaction Export page (Accounting > Transaction Export), all dates and times are shown in Eastern Time (ET). This includes:
- Authorization date
- Capture date
- Date filters and quick date ranges
Using ET aligns with our statements and standard financial reporting practices, as our institution is headquartered in Eastern Time.
For more details, please see: Transaction Export Overview
Exports to Accounting Integrations
When you export transactions from the Transaction Export page directly to your accounting sync, transaction dates are exported in Coordinated Universal Time (UTC).
Using UTC aligns with universal data-tagging best practices, allowing the receiving system to properly align data from multiple systems and apply its own display time zone.
CSV exports from Transaction Export
When you export transactions to CSV from the Transaction Export page:
- The Standard CSV uses UTC for date and time fields
- Custom CSV templates use UTC by default
- You can change the time zone to "Local" in a custom CSV template so that exports use the system time zone of the person doing the export
- Note: The only Payment field option that uses local time is "Local". All other options will use UTC.

Statement Time Zones
Float account statements use Eastern Time (ET) for both PDF and CSV formats. This applies to both Cash account and Charge account statements.
This is to align with calculation timing for other features like interest, charge cycles, and standard financial reporting practices, as our institution is headquartered in Eastern Time.

Reporting Time Zones
Float reporting is displayed in Coordinated Universal Time (UTC).
This means any date and time fields in reports will appear in UTC, even if other areas of Float (like the Transaction Export page) display times in Eastern Time (ET).
The Reporting tab lets you view details about all successful transactions and understand where spend is happening across your company.
