How to Select Your Preferred Language
- Log in to app.floatfinancial.com
Click your profile icon (top-right corner) or go to the Settings page
Select Profile
In the Preferred Language drop-down menu, select English or French
Your interface will update immediately to the selected language.
What is Affected by the Language Settings?
Changing your preferred language updates:
The Float app interface
Buttons, labels, and menus
In-app messages
PDF and CSV monthly account statements
Important note: Transaction, Reimbursement and Bill Pay downloads to CSVs and custom CSV templates are NOT affected by your preferred language setting. They will be downloaded in your device's selected language.
Your language preference does not affect other team members—each user sets their own preferred language setting.
What Happens if I Don't Select a Preferred Language?
If you don’t set a preferred language in your profile, Float will automatically choose a language based on the following priority order:
Your profile language setting (if set)
Your browser’s settings (for example, French or French-Canada)
The language in the URL (where applicable)
Cookies or session information as the final fallback
This ensures that Float displays the most appropriate language based on the available information.
Does Changing My Language Affect Accounting Exports?
No, changing your preferred language will not affect accounting exports. Language settings only affect your Float interface. Exports follow your accounting system’s formatting and language.
However, your language settings will affect the language for any PDF or CSV monthly account statement downloads (excluding downloads to custom CSV templates).
Can I Set Different Languages for Different Devices?
No, it is not possible to set different languages for different devices. Your language preference is tied to your Float user profile and applies across all logins.
