What user roles can view and download statements?

For more information on user roles, see: User Roles
Can I access historical statements from the new tab?
Yes, all past statements are available by account and currency.
Why are amounts different in the legacy version of statements compared to the new version?
The difference is due to a change in statement period timing. Previously, statement periods ended at midnight UTC, but they now end at midnight ET. This may cause a discrepancy between current and "legacy" statement formats, but statement periods will be consistent within each format.
Can I generate statements for custom date ranges?
Custom date ranges are only available for CSV statements.
You can access the custom date range option either directly from the Statements CSV Exports tab, or by following these steps:
- Log in to your account at app.floatfinancial.com
- Go to Accounts > Statements
- Click on Statements > PDF Statements
- Locate the account and currency you want (e.g., Cash CAD, Charge CAD, Cash USD, Charge USD)
- Open the date field dropdown and select Custom Ranges CSV.
You’ll then be taken to the Statements CSV Exports tab to generate your CSV statement for the custom date range.
Why can I only generate CSV statements with custom date ranges?
PDF statements are fixed to formal reporting periods because they serve as immutable and official records of account activity and balance at Float.
CSV statements, on the other hand, are designed to be flexible. You can generate them for any custom date range, up to (but not including) the current day. The “previous day” is defined as any date before midnight ET.
Why does the merchant name look different in the new CSV statement?
The new CSV statement shows the raw merchant name from the actual transaction data, while the legacy CSV statement displayed a normalized merchant name.
Where did the merchant column go on the new CSV statement?
On the new CSV statement, the Merchant column has been renamed to Payee. The transaction merchant and the payee represent the same thing.
What languages are statements available in?
Statements are available in both English and French.
What happened to the quick stats from the old Statement Page?
They’ve been removed, but the new PDF summary includes more comprehensive data in the Account Activity section at the top of the statement.
What information is included in the Account Activity section?
The account activity section shows opening and closing balances, total debits, total credits for the period, account transfers, cashback and interest earned.
Note: Cashback awards are added to the balance of your Float cash account, unless you are a Float Charge customer. Float Charge customers' cashback award will be applied to their Charge account.
Do statements include receipts?
No. Receipts are separate and can be downloaded from Cards > Receipts > Downloads.
For more information, please see: How to Download Receipts
Where do I get receipt URLs?
For the instructions to export receipt URLS, please see: How to Download Receipts
Do statements include both Cash and Charge accounts in one file?
No. Statements are now split by account and currency. CSVs can be manually combined if you need a single file.
Why are Cash and Charge statements separate now?
To improve clarity and reduce reconciliation errors.
What time period does each statement cover?
Cash account statements cover the first to the last day of the month. Charge statements cover the contracted charge cycle; typically 14-day or 30-day periods
Can I download statements in bulk?
At this time, statements cannot be downloaded in bulk. However this option will be available in the future.
How long is the statement download link available for?
The statement download link does not expire. You can download the statement for the selected period anytime using the link in the email sent to you.
