All Float cards can be locked to prevent new transactions from being authorized. You may want to do this if an employee leaves your company, if you believe your card has been compromised or lost, or if you don't plan on using the card for a while. Note that "Pending" transactions, which were authorized prior to a card being locked, can still be "Posted" after the card is locked.

Locking a Float card
If you want to temporarily lock new transactions from being authorized on a particular card, you can lock it. When a card is locked, all new transactions will be automatically declined. As soon as the card is unlocked, charges will be successful again.
How to lock your card:
- Log in to app.floatfinancial.com
- Cards > My Cards
- To the right of the card, click the three vertical dots > Select "Lock Card"
- Your card will be locked with the note "Card owner locked this card"
Administrators and managers can lock a spender's card. Please review the steps below to see how you can do this yourself:
How to lock another user's card as an Administrator:
Option 1 - Lock an individual card:
- Log in to app.floatfinancial.com
- Cards > Use filters to locate the card
- To the right of the card, click the three vertical dots > Select "Lock Card"
- The card will be locked with the message "Card locked by Admin"
Option 2 - Bulk lock multiple cards:
- Log in to app.floatfinancial.com
- Cards > Use filters to locate the cards (optional)
- Select the checkbox beside each card you'd like to lock
- In the bulk options menu at the bottom of the page, select "Lock Cards"
Unlocking a locked Float card
The ability to unlock a Float card depends on how the card was locked:
- A Spender can unlock a Float card which they locked themselves
- An Administrator can unlock a Float card which was locked by a Spender or by an Administrator
- If a replacement card has been issued for a card that was undelivered or damaged, the card will appear inactive until the replacement is received and activated. See: Activating Replacement Physical Float Cards
- Float Support can unpause a Float card which was manually paused by Float or automatically paused for Suspected Fraud. Contact support@floatfinancial.com
- Cards which were automatically locked for Spend Policy Compliance can be automatically unlocked by providing the required information in the non-compliant transactions, or by an Administrator overriding the Submission Policy on the card. See: Auto-Locking Cards
To unlock your own card:
- Log in to app.floatfinancial.com
- Cards > My Cards
- To the right of the card, select "Unlock Card"
To unlock another user's card as an Administrator:
