If your Float card is locked due to a Spend Compliance Policy Violation, it means one or more of your transactions are missing required information. This happens when a Submission Policy has been applied to your card, and you haven’t completed the necessary transaction details within the allowed timeframe. You will see a "Transactions Missing Required Info" message in Float. You may also receive a "Transactions Missing Information" email.
This article explains how to identify non-compliant transactions and what to do to get your card unpaused.
Understand why your card is locked
Your Float Administrator sets a Submission Policy that defines what information is required on each transaction. This could include:
A receipt
A vendor name
A description
A GL code or other accounting fields
If any required field is missing on a transaction, it becomes a policy violation as soon as the transaction is in the account (i.e., pending or posted). If the number of violations on your card exceeds the allowed limit, your card will be automatically locked and marked as Card locked due to submission policy violation.
Unlock your card using the web app
When you log in to the Float web app, your Overview page will show an action item that tells you how many of your transactions are missing required information.
To fix those transactions:
Click the action item
You’ll be taken to the All Transactions page, filtered to show only your non-compliant transactions
Click on a transaction to open it
Under Required Fields, you’ll see what information is missing
Upload receipts or fill in any missing details
Once your transaction violations drop below the policy limit, your card will unlock automatically.
Unlock your card using the mobile app
You can also fix missing information on your phone using the Float mobile app:
Open the Float app
Tap the action item that tells you how many transactions are missing information
You’ll be taken to your non-compliant transactions list
Tap into each transaction to see what’s missing under Required Fields
Upload receipts or enter any other required information
When you’ve completed enough missing items, your card will automatically unlock.
Know when a transaction can’t be edited
Some transactions may no longer be editable if they’ve already been exported to your organization’s accounting system. If that’s the case:
You’ll see that the fields are locked
You’ll need to contact your Float Administrator to make any required updates
Check if your transactions are compliant
Go to Transactions > All Transactions in Float. Look at the icon in the status column:
A blue icon means the transaction is compliant
A grey icon means the transaction is missing required information
Click any grey-icon transaction to view the details and update the missing information if editable.
