Float physical cards are always shipped inactive for security. You will need to activate your card before you can start spending. If you're activating a replacement card, please visit our help centre article: Activating Replacement Physical Float Cards.
On the Float web app
This can be completed by the assigned Spender or an Administrator.
Activating your own card:
Option 1:
- Navigate to the Cards page > Select the "Activate Physical Card" button on the top-right of the page
- Enter the last four digits of the card number
- Select "Activate Card"
Option 2:
- Navigate to the Cards page > Go to My Cards
- On the right side of your card, select "Activate Card"
- Enter the last four digits of the card number
- Select "Activate Card"
Activating someone else's card as an Administrator:
Option 1:
- Navigate to the Cards page > Select the "Activate Physical Card" button on the top-right of the page
- Enter the last four digits of the card number
- Select "Activate Card"
Option 2:
- Navigate to the Cards page > Filter for the card to activate
- On the right side of the card, select "Activate Card"
- Enter the last four digits of the card number
- Select "Activate Card"
Through the activation portal
This can only be completed by the assigned Spender.
- Visit activate.floatfinancial.com
- Login to your Float account
- Enter the last four digits of the card number
- Select "Activate Card"
In the mobile app
This can only be completed by the assigned Spender.
- Open the Float mobile app
- On the home screen, select the card you want to activate
- Tap "Activate"
- Enter the last four digits of the card number
You're good to go! You can now start spending on your Float card.
