Specific user information can only be edited by Administrators directly, or through Float Support at an Admin's request. We've outlined those actions below!
Which user information can be edited?
Administrators have access to change the following:
- User's Role (ie. Spender, Manager, Admin)
- Job Title
- Assigned Manager
- Phone Number
Administrators must pass an elevated access verification to apply these edits. See: Additional Authentication for changing user profile details
A Float Support Request is needed to change the following:
- User's Email Address
- User's Full Legal Name
- Changes to the Primary Admin Role, any changes to the Primary Admin account must be completed by support following these steps here.
Float Support Requests can be made through email at support@floatfinancial.com.
Users have the ability to update their own phone number as outlined here: How To Update Your Phone Number.
Why can't Administrators edit some user information?
As an additional layer of security, Administrators must submit a request and pass a verification for updates which control access to user accounts and spending/funding capabilities.
Editing User profile details as an Administrator
- Log-in to Float as an Administrator and select "Users" from the left sidebar.
- Locate the user you wish to edit.
- Click the "Edit" at the right end of the user's row.
- Complete the security code verification.
- Apply the desired changes and click "Save".
Requesting Changes from Float Support
Change a User's Legal Name:
To make changes to a user's legal name on Float, email support@floatfinancial.com and CC the user in question. Please provide the following:

A copy of your gov't issued ID for ID verification (we cross reference this with the ID used to sign up with Float to confirm your identity)

Formal request in the body of the email requesting the change to be made.
Following Admin verification, the Support team will correspond with the CC'd user to verify any documentation confirming the change of legal name.
Change a User's Email:
To make changes to a user's Email on Float, please email support@floatfinancial.com with the following information:
