This walkthrough covers how to amortize a transaction in Float once it's already flagged for review — across Transaction Export, Bill Pay, and Reimbursements. Amortization is only available if your business has a connected NetSuite integration.
For a high-level overview of what amortization is, see: Amortization Overview & FAQs.
Guide Overview
Update your NetSuite bundle
Syncing amortization schedules requires the latest Float Integration SuiteBundle. If you haven't already updated it, follow the steps below:
- Log in to app.floatfinancial.com
- Navigate to Settings in the left navigation panel > Accounting Sync
- You will see an in-app message stating "Your NetSuite integration now supports bill pay - update or install the Float Integration SuiteBundle to get in"
- Click Update now > this auto-directs you to your NetSuite account
- You may need to sign in to your NetSuite account first before you can proceed to the next step below
- Click Install in NetSuite
- Wait for the bundle status to show green
- Once the bundle status shows green, go back to your Float account > Settings > Accounting Sync
- Click the Sync button to perform a manual sync
- Installation is complete
Some important considerations:
During installation, you may see the Installed from field display "Sandbox" or "Production".
This field does not affect your setup, so no action is required based on what appears on your screen.
Setting NetSuite permissions
For Amortization schedules to sync from your NetSuite account, please ensure you have the following permissions set up:
| Permissions | Level |
| Lists → Amortization Schedules | Full |
Once this is complete, perform a manual accounting sync by following the steps below:

What happens next
Once a transaction/bill/reimbursement has a complete amortization schedule, Float syncs the template reference, start date, and end date to NetSuite when the transaction exports. You can edit or remove the schedule any time before that export happens.
If a schedule is started but left incomplete, Float blocks the transaction from syncing and shows a clear error so you know exactly what to finish.
