What Payment Methods does Bill Pay Support?
Bill Pay is Float's tool for managing business payments outside of corporate cards. It lets you:
- Upload and organize vendor bills
- Route bills through smart approval workflows
- Schedule and send payments directly from Float
- Sync everything with your accounting software
It's designed to save you time, reduce manual work, and help you stay on top of payments.
How does Bill Pay work?
Bill Pay follows four key steps:
- Capture: Upload bills and invoices at app.floatcard.com/accounts-payable, import unpaid bills from your accounting software, or forward them to Float by email using your custom forwarding address. Float uses advanced AI and OCR capabilities to automatically extract key details from your invoice.
- Approve: Send bills through custom approval workflows based on your company’s policies. Float uses multi-level dynamic approvals, with the ability to set up multiple types of approval policies for different types of bills.
- Pay: Once approved, schedule and authorize payments by ACH, EFT, or Wire.
- Close : Automatically export synced bills and payments directly to QBO and Xero, or export a CSV to import directly to your accounting software.
Who can use Bill Pay?
Only Administrators, Managers, AP Clerks and Bookkeepers can view and interact with Bill Pay. Spenders won't see the Bill Pay page in their accounts.

What Payment Methods does Bill Pay Support?
Float supports electronic payments through:

ACH (Automated Clearing House) for USD payments.

EFT (Electronic Funds Transfer) for CAD payments.

Wire transfers for USD payments to US or international vendors.
The method used depends on the vendor's currency and where the payment is being sent.
