Float cards are offered in two currencies! CAD and USD. They can also be used for making transactions in foreign currencies.
Float CAD 🇨🇦
All Float accounts start with CAD cards by default. These cards are issued through Visa and are funded directly from your connected Canadian CAD bank account. If your team is primarily spending in Canadian dollars, this is the best option for keeping things simple and efficient.
Float USD 🇺🇸
If your business spends in USD, you can access Float’s USD card program. New users can select a USD account during the registration process, and existing users can apply here: How to Apply for USD Spend. These cards are issued by MasterCard and are funded from a Canadian-domiciled USD bank account. Here’s how to fund your USD account.
Starting July 2024, any USD cards beginning with 5190 come with added perks, including car rental insurance and other exclusive benefits. For more information on these card benefits, please visit: USD Card Insurance Benefits.
Blocked countries and currencies
Float cards can't be used in certain countries or with some foreign currencies. If you're planning to spend internationally, check the list of blocked countries and currencies before making a transaction.
