Can my Float business account be connected to more than one accounting system at the same time?
No, at any time a Float business account can only be connected to one external accounting environment. Changing the connection (for example moving from QBO to NetSuite) will replace the chart of accounts and other synced dimensions. Transactions, Bills and other data created while synced to one accounting system should be exported prior to changing the accounting connection.
Do funds transfers into Float and other Account details export to connected accounting systems?
Only payment transactions created through Float export to connected accounting systems. Float will export:
- Card transactions
- Bills
- Employee Reimbursements
Money movements unrelated to card transactions, bills and reimbursement payments are not exported to connected accounting systems. Not exported:
- Funding transfers to a Float account from a connected bank account (top-ups)
- Transfers to a Float account from another external source (Interac e-Transfer, EFT, Wire, etc.)
- FX conversions within Float (ex. from CAD to USD)
- Transfers from one of your Float accounts to another (ex. from your Cash account to Charge account)
- Float account balances
I updated information in QBO, Xero, or NetSuite—how do I bring those changes into Float right away?
To have updates from your connected accounting integration show up in Float immediately, you can run a manual sync.
To do so:
-
Log in at app.floatfinancial.com.
-
Go to Settings > Accounting Sync.
-
Select Sync.
