Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) adds an extra layer of protection to your Float account by requiring users to confirm their identity during login. All Float users are required to use MFA (unless your business has enabled SAML authentication). Depending on your role and business's security settings, the MFA experience may vary. Administrators follow stricter verification rules, while other roles depend on how your MFA settings are configured.
For more information on MFA methods we accept, please visit our help centre article here: Setting Up Multi-Factor Authentication Methods.
MFA Logins for Administrator
Administrators are required to verify their identity with Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) every time they log in, unless their last verification was completed within the past 2 hours. Unlike other user types, Administrators do not have the option to "Remember this device for 30 days".
This extra step helps protect your account and company information by ensuring that only authorized users can access administrative features.
MFA Logins for Non Administrator Users
Administrators can choose to require users to complete MFA at every login, or allow them to skip MFA for up to 30 days after a successful verification.
How to Enable "Require Users to Use MFA on Every Login" as an Administrator
- Go to Settings in the left sidebar.
- Select Security.
- Under the MFA section, toggle "Require users to use MFA on every login" on.
When enabled, all users must verify their identity with MFA each time they log in, unless their last verification took place within the past 2 hours.
If toggled off, users will have the option to "Remember for 30 days" during MFA, allowing them to skip verification for 30 days on that device.
Please note: If you are a Spender who does not see the "Remember for 30 Days" option upon login for your device, please confirm with your Administrator on the intended security setting for your business.
