Is it possible to connect a second bank account to the same Float business?
Multiple bank accounts can be connected to the same Float business. However, only one account can be set as a funding source at a time for each currency (CAD and USD).
To change your current funding source, see: How to Change or Disconnect a Bank Account Connection.
Can I use different bank accounts for funding my Float balance and making direct payments to vendors?
Float uses the bank account set as your (per currency) funding source for both:
-
Funding your business's Cash and/or Charge accounts
-
Making direct payments to Vendors from your connected bank account
Separate accounts cannot be assigned for each purpose.
As a Canadian business can I connect my US-domiciled bank account to Float?
Canadian businesses can connect USD bank accounts if both of the following are true:
-
The account is domiciled in Canada
-
It has a Canadian institution number and address
Accounts domiciled in the US or other countries can't be connected to Float accounts belonging to Canadian businesses.
Can I disconnect a bank account from Float?
Yes. If you'd like to remove a connected bank account from your Float account, reach out to support@floatfinancial.com.
Why isn't my bank listed in Flinks?
If your bank isn’t listed in Flinks, it’s not currently supported for direct connections through our provider.
You can still connect the account manually by contacting support@floatfinancial.com.
What does "Refresh Required" mean, and how do I fix it?
This message shows up when your bank connection needs to be updated. Refreshing it revalidates the account and ensures Float has the most recent information.
To refresh your bank connection:
-
Log in to your Float account at app.floatfinancial.com.
-
Navigate to Accounts > Bank Connections.
-
Locate your current funding source.
-
Click Refresh beside the connection to update it.
This will re-establish the connection and allow Float to continue syncing with your bank account successfully.
