Once you've connected Slack to Float, notifications can be sent to your Slack workspace. This helps your team stay informed about spend requests, approvals, card transactions, and more — without relying only on email or the Float web app.
This article lists all the Slack notification types available and provides a quick guide to how they work.
Business-Wide Slack Notifications
These notifications are configured at the business level and apply to activities across your entire company.
Notification Type | Description |
---|---|
Card Transaction Alerts | Get real-time Slack alerts when spending happens on company cards. |
Spend Request Approvals | Notify managers when a spender submits a spend request that needs approval. |
Bill Pay Approval Requests | Alert approvers when a bill is ready for review and approval. |
Card Declines | Notify admins if a Float card transaction is declined. |
User-Specific Slack Notifications
These notifications are tied to individual users and can be customized based on role and preferences.
Notification Type | Description |
Transaction Alerts | Users get a Slack alert after a purchase made with their Float card. |
Receipt Reminders | Remind spenders to upload receipts for completed transactions. |
Spend Request Updates | Spenders get Slack updates when their request is approved, denied, or edited. |
Bill Pay Updates | Bill submitters receive notifications about approval status. |
Note: Float users must be mapped to Slack users in order to receive notifications. This can be done from the Users page > click "Connect" in the Slack column.
