You can read the full terms here.
Overview
How the promo works
- The promo is invite-only. Primary Administrators and Administrators at invited businesses are notified.
- It runs from October 19 to December 31, 2026. Only spend from October 19 counts, so spend from October 1 to 18 doesn't count toward October.
- Each calendar month stands alone. Reach $50,000 of Qualifying Spend in a month and you earn 1% on all Qualifying Spend that month. Miss it and that month earns no promo cashback. Nothing carries over.
- It's separate from standard cashback. It replaces standard cashback on the same spend.
Key dates
- Register by: October 31, 2026
- October cashback paid: November 1
- November cashback paid: December 1
- December cashback paid: January 1
How to join
- Opt in. A Primary Administrator or an Administrator can opt in for your business. More than one can opt in, but your business is enrolled once.
- By October 31, 2026, move your first eligible bill from EFT, wire or ACH to a Float Card using Pay by Card. For setup steps, see Paying a Bill with a Float Card.
- Reach $50,000 of Qualifying Spend in each calendar month you want to earn cashback.
Your account must be in good standing when you opt in and on every payout date. That means it isn't closed, suspended, in default or under review.
What counts as Qualifying Spend
Qualifying Spend is a settled Float Card transaction matched to a bill payment. It counts in the month it settles and posts.
These don't count:
- Top-ups and transfers between your own Float accounts
- Cash advances
- Bill payments made outside a card
- Reimbursements paid outside a card
Refunds, reversals, chargebacks and disputed transactions are deducted, even after payout.
How much you earn
Once you reach the target, you earn 1% on all Qualifying Spend that month, from the first dollar.
For example, $50,000 of Qualifying Spend earns $500. Under standard cashback, the same spend earns $250, because only the amount above $25,000 earns cashback.
CAD and USD are measured and paid separately. Amounts aren't converted, so you can't combine CAD and USD to reach $50,000.
How cashback is paid
Cashback is paid on the first day of the following month and credited to your Cash balance. Float Charge customers are paid as set out in their Float agreement.
How accounts combine
- Parent and child accounts are combined into one total and one reward, credited to the parent account.
- If you're the Primary Administrator on several affiliated businesses, all of them are combined.
- Accounts opened during the promo are combined the same way.
- Moving spend between your own accounts doesn't change your progress.

Does spend from October 1 to 18 count?
No. Only spend from October 19 counts.
What do I earn if I reach the target?
1% on all Qualifying Spend that month, from the first dollar. $50,000 earns $500.
How is this different from standard cashback?
Standard cashback pays 1% only on card spend above $25,000 a month, and bill payments made by EFT aren't eligible. The promo pays 1% from the first dollar once you reach $50,000 of Qualifying Spend. For more, see Float Cashback FAQ.

Qualifying Spend and bills
What does "bring over" mean?
Connecting a card transaction to a bill. Bill payments made outside a card don't count.
Does every card transaction count?
No. It must be a settled card transaction matched to a bill payment. Top-ups, transfers between your own Float accounts, cash advances and reimbursements paid outside a card don't count.
My card transaction isn't matched to a bill. Will it count?
Not until it's matched. Matching is automatic when the amounts line up exactly. Otherwise, match it manually:
- Go to Payments > Pending.
- Open the payment.
- Select Match Now.
A card transaction made during the promo counts once it's matched.
Does Float pay my vendor with the card?
No. Pay by Card only tracks the bill. You give the vendor the card details yourself.
My vendor doesn't accept cards.
A bill the vendor won't take by card can't be paid by card, so it can't count.
A vendor refunded me. Does that affect my cashback?
Yes. Refunds, reversals, chargebacks and disputed transactions are deducted, even after payout. Float may offset the amount against future cashback or your Cash balance.
Payouts and changes
When is cashback paid?
On the first day of the following month, credited to your Cash balance: November 1, December 1 and January 1. Float Charge customers are paid as set out in their Float agreement.
Will there be an extension?
Float will follow up with invited businesses on November 1. Any extension terms will be shared then.
Can Float change the promo?
Yes, going forward. Float may also withhold, adjust or reverse cashback for errors or suspected fraud or abuse. Cashback already earned for a completed month isn't affected, except for the refund and error rules above.
