Float exports Send Money payments to QuickBooks Online (QBO) and NetSuite automatically once they're sent. So they reach your books without manual entry required. Xero exports are not (yet!) supported.
Guide Overview
How to Verify a Payment Was Exported?
What Gets Exported?
When a Send Money payment exports, Float creates a single entry:
- QBO: Exports as a Purchase. Debiting the GL Code you chose and crediting your Clearing account
- NetSuite: Exports as a Journal Entry. Debiting the GL Code you chose and crediting your Clearing account, tagged to the subsidiary you selected, if your business has more than one
When a payment is exported from Float to QBO/NetSuite, the following fields are synced:
- Recipient name
- Invoice number
- Payment Date
- GL Code
- Memo (optional)
- Payment status
When Are Payments Exported?
Send Money payments export automatically once they're sent - there's no separate step to approve or trigger the export itself.
- Payments export on Float's daily accounting sync, based on their sent date
- Only payments sent on or after September 8, 2026 are included
- A payment needs a Clearing account and a GL Code set to export
- If either is missing, the payment will not export
How to Verify a Payment Was Exported?
- Go to Send Money > Complete
- (Optional) Filter for your desired payment
- In the "Sync" column, hover your mouse over the QBO/NetSuite logo, and it will give you the status of the payment sync
- If the logo is grey, the payment hasn't exported
- If the logo is red, there was an export error
- If the logo is blue/green, the export was successful
