How does Send Money work?
Send Money follows three steps:
-
Select a recipient or upload an invoice:
- Search for an existing recipient, add a new one on the spot, or upload an invoice instead
- If you've paid them before, their banking details are pre-filled automatically
-
Enter the details:
- Add the amount, currency, funding source, payment date and a payment purpose
- You can add an attachment or add a memo as well
-
Submit for authorization:
- Submit the payment for funds authorization
Once submitted, the payment appears on your Payments page alongside your Bill Pay and Reimbursement payments, and moves through the same Needs Authorization, Scheduled, and Complete stages.

Who can use Send Money?
Only Administrators can create Send Money payments. The "Send Money" button is only visible to users with the Administrator role.
Bookkeepers and AP Clerks have access to the Payments page and can view and track Send Money payments there, but can't create, authorize, reschedule, or unschedule them.
What payment methods does Send Money support?
Send Money uses the following payment rails:
-
EFT (CAD and USD):
- Domestic payments in CAD
- USD for CA-domiciled businesses paying USD-denominated vendor banks
- ACH (USD only): Domestic US payments

How is Send Money different from Bill Pay?
Bill Pay and Send Money solve different problems. Bill Pay is built for paying vendor invoices, with a more detailed intake, multi-level approval, and categorization workflow.
Send Money is for quick, simple payments that don't need that structure. Use whichever fits the payment in front of you - many businesses will use both.
What are the fees?
- EFT (CAD and USD): No fee
- ACH (USD): No fee
- Wire Transfer (CAD and USD): $20
