Transactions can be marked as either Permitted or Not Permitted by the assigned reviewer after a transaction is posted. Please view the article Transaction Reviews for an overview of this feature and the Configuring Transaction Review Policies article for the instructions to set this feature up.
How Can I Find Transactions That Need to Be Reviewed?
Transactions that require review can be found in the Needs Review tab. You can view this tab by navigating to Transactions > Needs Review. If there is a transaction(s) awaiting review, the amount will be indicated beside 'Needs Review'.
When should a reviewer consider a transaction to be Permitted or Not Permitted?
A transaction is considered to be Permitted if it follows the rules outlined in your business' expense policy. Whereas a transaction that is considered to be Not Permitted does not fit the criteria for appropriate spending listed in the company expense policy.
Marking a Transaction as Permitted or Not Permitted
In the Needs Review tab, the transactions that require review will be listed. A transaction is marked as Permitted when selecting the thumbs up icon and Not Permitted when selecting the thumbs down icon.
What happens when a transaction is marked as Permitted or Not Permitted?
When a transaction has been reviewed and marked as Permitted, this means it aligns with the companies expense policies and will be removed from your Needs Review tab.
If a transaction is marked as Not Permitted, it will remain in your Needs Review tab until exported. It is the reviewers responsibility to take any required action. Many of the companies using this feature will use this as an opportunity to gently remind spenders of appropriate spending as outlined in their company expense policy.
Important: Float will not take any action on your behalf. Regardless of the transaction’s Review Status, Bookkeepers and Admins in your account will be able to export all settled transactions to your accounting software. They will also be able to filter by Review Status on the Ready to Export page.
Can a transaction review status be changed after it has been marked as Permitted or Not Permitted?
If a transaction is marked as Not Permitted, only the assigned reviewer can update the status to Permitted. However, once a transaction is marked as Permitted, the status cannot be changed.
