Businesses with QuickBooks Online (QBO) connected to Float can add a custom posting date to a transaction. This is useful if a transaction needs to be exported to a different accounting period, such as when the original transaction date falls within a closed accounting period in QBO.
How to Add a Custom Posting Date:
- Go to Accounting > Transaction Exports > Needs Review, Ready to Export or Exported
- Use the filters to search and select the transaction you want to update
- Select the calendar icon to the right of the payment date > Select a new date from the calendar
Important Notes:
- The date selected will show as the "Posting" date, below the transaction's original payment date
- The transaction will export with the "Posting" date as the payment date in QBO
- Changing the posting date will appear in the transactions Activity Logs
- If you're changing the posting date of an Exported transaction, you will need to re-export it, so the change is reflected in QBO
- To re-export, select the "Re-Export" button
How to Delete a Custom Posting Date:
- Go to Accounting > Transaction Exports > Needs Review, Ready to Export or Exported
- Use the filters to search and select the transaction you want to update
- Select the delete button to the right of the custom posting date
