You can register multiple businesses with Float - whether the entities are related, have similar ownership or are completely different.
This guide is relevant to you if:
- You are a bookkeeper, accountant or fractional CFO signing up multiple clients for Float, and you do not have a unique email address for each client;
- You have a single business, but wish to connect multiple bank accounts (ie. one per physical site, or one per business line);
or - You have a single business, but wish to have multiple accounting connections (ie. one per physical site, or one per business line).
How to Register Multiple Businesses with Float:
- Determine the number of accounts that you need to create
- Register your first business at welcome.floatfinancial.com (or a link given to you directly by an Account Executive)
- Once you’ve registered your first business, you can create additional businesses from within Float by:
- Clicking your business name in the top left > Select "Create a business"
- You will be the Primary Administrator of these new businesses, and you will use the same login credentials to access these new businesses
- Float does not allow a Legal Business Name to be reused, so you may need to slightly modify the Legal Business Name for subsequent applications (ie. by appending a location name or number, or another unique differentiator)
- Complete the form, and our Business Approvals team will be in touch regarding any additional requirements!
Important Notes on Registering Multiple Businesses and the KYC (user identity verification) process:
- Registering another business through this flow allows you to reuse the same email address and won't require you to complete KYC (Know-Your-Customer) verification again.
- If you choose to register another business from our main registration page, instead of in the Float web app, you cannot reuse your email address and will be required to complete KYC again.
