Everything you need to know about connecting Float to Oracle NetSuite, categorizing, and exporting transactions.

Connecting your NetSuite Account

Syncing Accounting Data from NetSuite
Once you connect your NetSuite Account, you can initiate the data sync by navigating to Settings > Manage Accounting Connection and clicking the Sync button.
This will pull in the following records from your NetSuite account:
- Subsidiaries
- Chart of Accounts
- Tax Codes & Tax Groups
- Vendors
- Departments
- Classifications
- Locations
- Custom Segments
The data sync can be rerun at any time by clicking the Sync button on the Settings > Manage Accounting Connection page.
Configuring Your NetSuite Integration
Once the initial data sync completes, the next step is to configure the NetSuite Integration by selecting a Subsidiary and Clearing Account.
The Subsidiary chosen should reflect the Business that has been set up in the Float account, while the Clearing Account will be used as the credit account for all transactions exported to NetSuite, so it should be the Bank Account or Credit Card being used to reflect your Float Balance in NetSuite.
Once a Subsidiary and a Clearing Account has been set, we are ready to code and export transactions
You can optionally add Custom Segments to sync from NetSuite and track in Float.

- Add a new Custom Segment
- Enter the Segment ID (found in NetSuite)
- Click Save
- Click Sync
- Once synced, the Custom Segment Name will be synced from NetSuite, and your Custom Segment will be available in Synced Accounting Fields
How Float Represents NetSuite Data
Coding your Transactions with NetSuite Data
Imported NetSuite data will be available to be used to code every transaction in Float. Selecting a transaction in the Transactions > Ready to Export page, you will be able to add a GL Code from your NetSuite Chart of Accounts, a Tax Code from your NetSuite Tax Groups, and a Vendor from your NetSuite Vendors.
In the tags field, you can optionally add a Department, Location, Classification and Custom Segment to the transaction.
If you do not yet have a vendor in NetSuite matching the merchant on a Float Transaction, you can create one directly in the form, and it will be created in NetSuite too.
As a best practice, we recommend setting up Transaction Rules in Float with your NetSuite data to automate transaction coding! You can also attach these NetSuite records to virtual and physical cards to pre-code transactions.
Exporting Transactions to NetSuite
To export your transaction to NetSuite, click the Export button on the bottom right corner of the Transaction drawer. This will create a Journal Entry in NetSuite with the following attributes:
- Memo: Transaction Description, Receipt Url, Spender Name
- Credit Line: Credit Clearing Account for transaction total, tagged with Vendor, Class, Department, Location, and Custom Segment with Transaction Description in Memo
- Subtotal Debit Line: Debit selected GL Code Account for transaction subtotal, tagged with Vendor, Class, Department, Location and Custom Segment with Transaction Description in Memo
- Tax Debit Line: For each Tax Code on the Transaction, debit selected Tax Code purchase Account for tax amount, tagged with Vendor, Class, Department, Location and Custom Segment with Transaction Description in Memo
