A HAR file or HTTP Archive captures information that travels between your browser and a website. The file outlines blocked actions, load times and loaded sources which is extremely helpful when troubleshooting errors.
This article walks you through downloading a HAR file on the following browsers:
Generate a HAR in Chrome
- Open a new tab
- Right-click anywhere on the page and select "Inspect". This opens a pop-up window on the right side of your screen
- Click on the "Network" tab at the top
- Ensure the "Preserve log" box has been checked.
- Ensure the network log is being recorded by checking for the record button on the top right corner of the "Network" tab. It is a white circle when not recording and turns red when recording (see below)
- Now recreate the error by following the same steps as when you first experienced the error
- Click the download icon (shown below)
- Click save, and share the file with us via chat or at support@floatcard.com with a description of our error!
