Some vendors may ask to check the name on your card to see if it matches your ID, for example Car Rentals, Hotels, etc.
As of July 2022 we have started adding Card Holder names onto cards, so this should no longer be an issue anywhere. In the event you have removed the feature allowing cardholder names on cards (please contact support@floatcard.com if you wish to do this), then this guide is still valid for you.
Depending on if your company has removed the feature to allow cardholder names, your billing details will either show the business address & cardholder name, or the business address & business name such as below;
Will you be declined if the vendor requires a cardholder name?
The vendor makes the final decision, some ways to get around this are:
- Give them your name (even though it's not on the card)
- Give a screenshot of the cardholder name/details within your account
- Ask the Vendor to call Float (+1 844 967 2500) or send us an email (Support@floatcard.com)
- If using for a deposit, usually you can use your personal card for the deposit, then pay the actual fee using your Float Card (if you ask the Vendor), as the deposit is returned anyway.
Ultimately the vendor does make these decisions but these workarounds have worked regularly in the past, and we will soon have cardholders on the card which will alleviate the issue.
