Float can help you enforce receipt policy in real-time with zero administrative overhead!
As of June 2022, Receipt Compliance is now a feature within Submission Policies. Please head over to this guide for more information on other areas you can monitor.
How it works
You can set desired receipt policies on every card. There are multiple settings that you can take advantage of:
-
If you enable the "Require receipts for transactions on this card" setting, then spenders will be notified about missing receipts on all the transactions on this card
-
If you enable the "Pause card if receipts are missing" field, then you have an option to set the number of missing receipts that are allowed on the card. If the number of missing receipts exceeds the allowed number, then the card is automatically paused. Learn how card pausing works here.
Once spenders upload the missing receipts, the notifications for them missing receipts automatically stop, and in case the card has been paused, it gets unpaused automatically as well.
How to set up receipt policies
When you are approving a spending request or creating a card, you can set the desired receipt compliance policy.
When approving a spend request
When reviewing spend requests, you can set up receipt policies for the card that will be created once the spend request is approved
When Creating a Card
When creating a new card, you have the same ability to set up a receipt policy for all the transactions that go through the card!
How to edit an existing receipt policy
Since receipt policies are enforced on each individual card, you can easily edit them as well when editing your cards. Simply use the "Edit Card" button to update your receipt policy!
What happens when a policy is violated & what can spenders do to unpause?
When the spender violates their receipt policy, they get a notification via email or Slack (if connected) that their card has been paused with the paused reason explaining that the receipt policy has been violated.
All that the spender needs to do is to upload missing receipts for transactions on the card and the card will get automatically unpaused. When the card gets unpaused, the spender will be notified again that the card has been unpaused!
