Auto-forwarding bills (Gmail)
You can configure Gmail to automatically send bills to Float Bill Pay - they will appear in "Drafts". Each Float user can only forward messages for a single Gmail address, which cannot be a group or an alias. To configure auto-forwarding from your Gmail account, follow these steps:
- In a web browser (non-mobile), open log-in to the Gmail using the account you want to forward from.
- In the top right, click Settings See all settings
- Click the Forwarding and POP/IMAP tab
- In the "Forwarding" section, click Add a forwarding address
- Enter your personalized Float bill forwarding email address, found at the bottom of the Bill Pay page in Float
- Click Next > Proceed > OK
- Go back to the Settings page in your Gmail account and refresh your browser
- Click the Forwarding and POP/IMAP tab
- In the "Forwarding" section, select "Forward a copy of incoming mail to"
- Choose what you want to happen with the Gmail copy of your emails (we recommend keeping Gmail's copy in the Inbox)
- At the bottom of the page, click "Save Changes"
- Refer to the article here if you run into any issues.
Gmail will then start automatically forwarding your bills based on your present filters to your Float bill pay 'Draft' section. You can review the extracted information from the bill and send it for approval to be paid. If we are unable to upload a bill, simply try uploading it again!
You can also add bills directly to the Float app by dragging-and-dropping or choosing a file from your computer, as outlined here: Uploading Bills to the Float Web Application
