Insights are smart suggestions, generated monthly, related to company spending on software that we think you can save money on. This is a secondary feature located on the Reporting page.
Insights are generated monthly, and are visible to all Admins and Bookkeepers, but not to Managers or Spenders.
Types of Insights
We scan for three distinct types of Insights - Increased Spend, Duplicate Subscriptions, and Similar Subscriptions.
Increased Spend Insights will display large increases in monthly spending, to notify you of unexpected billing increases, large jumps in tool usage, or potential double-charges to keep costs low.
Duplicate Subscriptions will display spending on software duplicated across two or more employees that can likely be consolidated in exchange for discounts, or where you can reduce duplicate charges altogether.
Similar Subscriptions will display spending on software tools that provide overlapping features, giving you the opportunity to cancel a subscription altogether.
How to use Insights
Insights are automatically enabled for all Professional Plan customers, and are located at the bottom of the Reporting page. We’ll only generate Insights for material spend that is greater than >$1000/month (or has jumped by >15%). You can mark an Insight as actioned for that month only to continue to get updates on that merchant in subsequent months or mute an Insight forever if you’re comfortable with the spending and don’t want to receive future alerts.
Insights don't differentiate between spending currency, and summary amounts displayed in Insights don't convert amounts that are spent on different currency cards into one central currency.
